Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin's Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, which emphasizes creating tools that bring energy home, Valerie forages seaweeds and marine epiphytes—materials rich with their narratives of transnational migration and ecological interconnection—to craft bioplastics and natural dyes. This process, akin to creating containers, explores how these materials encapsulate poetic assumptions and movements, offering vessels that not only preserve but also narrate stories of their own.
